    This looming deadline is the subtext to Ottawa’s every move as it tries to protect access to a market it can’t afford to lose.

    While I agree we cannot afford to lose it, we have to remember they cannot afford to lose it either.

    Further I say we cannot afford to find new trading partners to replace the US, Trump is going is destroying thing the US and its standing in the world.

      The difference is that the American “leadership” doesn’t seem to be aware of that.

      American exceptionalism leads them to believe that they can stand alone without anything from anyone else.
