  • Over the long term it’s possible China will shift towards democracy as well. Their story is just beginning.

    You cannot have political democracy without economic democracy, which is where socialism comes in. China is on track to achieve this by 2035.

    You’re correct that they are becoming more democratic, but it won’t look like anything currently employed by western nations.

    Additionally, China is over 5000 years old. Their story is not “just beginning”. The audacity of a Canadian to make this claim is ridiculous. They have been working toward this goal for a century now.



  • Repeating the “Uyghur Genocide” myth in 2026 is a bit of a red flag. This has been pretty thoroughly debunked at this point.

    Tibet happened over 75 years ago, and was a slave-state run by an upper class of monks. The ruling class wants a “free Tibet”. The former slaves, not so much. If we’re gonna go back 75 years, I could list countless atrocities committed by the US in that same timeframe. It’s a silly comparison.

    I think as Westerners it’s time we admit that we’ve been manipulated by the interests of our own ruling class.
