Privacy@lemmy.ml•Need a solid daily driver browser that’s good for most things
4·3 days agoLibrewolf if you want something more heavy handed with the privacy. It can break some websites though if you don’t tune it. Firefox for an every-man browser that isn’t chromium based. I personally run Firefox with ublock because I’m not looking to use Google stuff anymore. I’m waiting to see Orion’s deployment on Windows and Linux. I’ve been using that on my iPad and phone and like its potential.
Yeah since it was the Dems that aren’t at the center of the whole thing masterminded by Obama and his tan suit, everything is fine to them. Justifiable even.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Unable to wake Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop 43 from monitor sleep
2·4 days agoYou are not the only one. My monitor is hit or miss on if it will comeback with waking up from a long stent in sleep mode. I’m on Bazzite myself and I got an LG 4k 144hz ultra wide monitor with a nvidia 3060. It even would happen on Win 11 too. It actually happens less on Linux than Win 11. I’m connected via display port and I’ve heard that’s actually where the issue lies or possibly the make of the monitor but I don’t really want to use hdmi. I just deal with it because it’s not every time. I either shut the computer down when I’m done with it or will be away from it for a while or do a hard reboot when it happens. I’ve tried turning the monitor off and on again when it happens or reseating the cable connection on the monitor side when it happens with middling results. I’ve also tried to make sure all my software, drivers, and firmware are up to date as well as ruling out the cable. I’m at a loss short of trying a different GPU or monitor, which I can’t afford to do.

Irish goodbye is my signature move.
This was a topic in The Fourth Kind but the reverse.
And this is something I’ve been thinking about too. While I dislike the idea of giving money to Google, it might be something I have to just make my peace with as a one time purchase for the next few years (I’m not the kind of user that has to have the newest device when it comes out). I dislike phablets too, so I always try to avoid them. I also didn’t consider PC hardware issues like ram availability and such affecting the prices of phones until now, so good of you to bring it up. I’ll think about it.
I’m waiting for a phone to meet Graphene’s requirements that isn’t made by Google. Then I’ll switch. Hope it happens sooner rather than later.

Omnissiah willing, Bazzite.
