We don’t hear that in any other industry.
“My word. There’s too much cake in this cake factory! And there’s too much music out there! Oh no, MORE comic books?!”
Solarpunk noooo

With all the layoffs of tech workers, theyve been pouring into more creative outlets like game dev.
I bought a bunch of games in the last year that are pretty niche and fantastic, but also under 1000+ reviews.
What’s a good Lemmy community to share them to people who will appreciate it?
Maybe something like patient gamers but for indie games?

Ah yeah we called that zip files and Dropbox. I don’t miss it.
Im joking of course.

Thinkpads running Linux for the staff.
We use open-source. Our own on-prem servers running Linux. A lot of our software is also open source. Our git, our office suite, our video and chat… All open source.
We just got rid of our Google Cloud connections a few months ago, but we’re still reliant on aws, cloudflare, etc.

I honestly didn’t play any non-RPGs on the PC until a couple of years ago.
I finally tried Commander Keen after it was compared to Nintendo Super Mario Bros 3.
It did not age like Super Mario Bros 3. At all.

I’m getting into meshtastic and learned how those esp32 devices are everywhere! They seem pretty neat

I stay away from all the micro tech drama and I feel like two years ago, that community was bitching that raspberry pi sold out and everyone should switch to arduino.
I don’t have a side. I just pick whatever is easiest to make a emulation station.

Omg you just can’t ask them their monitor aspect ratio… Not without foreplay.

It depends. But that number of good f2P games is small.
I get pleasantly surprised by many f2P games that I wish would just become single player games. Wizardry Variant Daphne comes to mind. You can literally play nonstop for like 100 hours and not even realize there’s a store. (Source: me)

OP, what does consensual game mean to you?

Didnt the pedo hunter guy prepare to go to war against Robloxs?
Was expecting a documentary on a streaming network

These platforms are a gateway drug to open source.
I got more folks into Linux using Reddit than I have anywhere else.

I loved Friends growing up.
But it was of a different era and now many of their jokes make me uncomfortable.

Its already a thing where random internet users will scream “AI slop” at indie game developers and many of them spend more time arguing that it’s not, showing evidence and still losing sales because of it.
I want Feynman for president.
I don’t care how, or why, or that he’s no longer here. Anything is better than this bozo.

Remember when Ubisoft came crawling back to Steam?

I remember having to write so much bullshit code to make it look right on IE. I think by 2018, I got fed up with it and put it in my contract that I don’t code for IE. And to my surprise, most companies were like, “Yeah we don’t give a fuck about those users either.” Either their metrics showed that IE users weren’t buying, or they were a small segment not worth supporting.
And I never looked back.

M like in Mancy
“That will go well with my crackers and cheese because here’s a block!”
What reason do they have to have offices in Canada?
And what’s stopping a patriotic Canadian from going in there and proclaiming Canadian freedom all over it?
