Right, but like… whatever you’re doing in space is going to be more cost effective to do on earth. Not to mention the insane amount of energy lost to the atmosphere

Still don’t understand how this could possibly generate energy.

Why do I have an overwhelming urge to climb that

I mean the error should say “Whoever wrote this software made a serious mistake that caused it to crash.” That’s fairly useful imo.

The vast majority of crash reports I’ve seen are type errors. And not just from dynamic languages, either.
That’s a pretty cut-and-dried programming error that could easily be conveyed as such to the user

Well, it would if you get all your news from this place.

I miss greenlight. We should go back to that. I’m already tired of the endless amounts of crap being put on Steam.
Try not having a phone at all. Those conversations are fun
I don’t disagree that adobe software is bloated, but GIMP takes 20-30s to load on every system I’ve ever owned.
You can pry Notepad++ from my cold, dead hands.

Hi, dev here who doesn’t use AI.

I hate when I see github links. I have to open them in a private window because they wrecked my account by requiring 2fa and later claiming that there was something wrong with my email address. Worthless site.
Not to mention, MicroShaft being in charge of github is like the fox being in charge of the chicken coop.

eli5 why doesn’t someone produce ram and refuse to sell to AI companies and make a bloody fortune?
Yeah wow, these explanations are so detailed. Most of them were delisted for server reasons as expected, but there’s a surprising amount of variety. My favorite reason was failing to pay the license fees for the engine they used. Not sure what I expected the consequences to be for that, but I didn’t realize you could get delisted from Steam.
Yeah. “Nitch” didn’t show up until 1917 and got added to the Webster dictionary in 1961.
As an American if someone said “nitch” out loud I would secretly die inside and then do my best to remember this:

So that’s why people like C-style return types. That actually makes a lot of sense. I do too now.
Sure, me too, but that’s my point. Even Java is better than what we have now, especially from the user’s perspective.
I’m surprised the corpos haven’t pushed for a new word with less baggage. That’s exactly the sort of thing they do when you don’t reign them in
