I take the lane due to safety, and I’ll let cars pass when safe to do so.
Shoulders are full of trash, debris like loose nails and broken glass, drainage grates, pot holes, and have an uneven surface. They’re the most dangerous place to bike.
Stay safe.
When there’s no bike lane or there some idiot parked on it I just took the entire lane. Don’t like it? Complain with the mayor.
