It’s reasonable to ask about the prospect of grandchildren, but not fair to expect it. “Upend every aspect of your life, take on an enormous responsibility, and spend an absolute fortune doing it” is not a reasonable request.

Very thankful for my sisters and their kids making up for the fact that the only grandkids my mother will get out of me are dogs.
