It’s really sad to watch them go down the drain. It was a Canadian company to be proud of. Remember their Christmas projects? The good old days.

The turning point was when they went from engaged company to soulless asset. And it seemed to have been a speed-run to hell.

Yeah 2019 when they got bought by Onex. Been crappy since then. Better than other airlines, but that is a low bar. Westjet dollars now changed to points, so now they can manipulate points prices for flight discounts instead of dollar for dollar. Like just finding every way for me to choose a competitor airline.

Its like every CEOs goal is : how can I crash this company into the ground while still having a parachute jump out point.

Like Sonos, amazing sound, a good application to go with it and the CEO is like you know what we need: a one way app upgrade where everything is broken, features are removed and the UI looks like an ADHD dartboard plan was used. (No offense to ADHD sufferers). oh profits went into the red? That’s weird. A year or more later and its still a broken app. How??

This is the path Westjet is on.
