    I do have to wonder at a national news station that reported on cancer deaths with the frequency and drama of homicides.

    Big flashing lights over a “BREAKING: MELANOMA VICTIM REPORT”, with a guy and his camera crew camped outside a hospice ward interviewing anyone who will tolerate a mic in their face.

    Cut back to studio, “Well Tracy, I guess I’m getting that mole removed. And now on to sports!”

      If humanity is very lucky, that may be the case in the future. Like the show where the characters (in the nearish future) thought that dying in a self-driving car crash was a joke because they don’t crash.

    Well yeah. If you remind people that health care is important, they might start demanding it. But then America would be revealed as “not quite the greatest” country in the world, and we can’t have that, no sirree, not today fuck no.
