Doesn’t even have to be fully nationalized, even owning just one national oil company like Petro-Canada was so that profits stay for Canadians and we have freedom to choose to do something like this.

9·5 days agoI think it has perhaps backfired that those countries are also planning domestic production and non-US sourcing. Sucks to be an arms dealer trying to subsidize your military industrial complex only to have your customers spend coin elsewhere.
Some of that blame belongs to Harper, for consolidating conservative parties, and sidelining progressive conservatives who are and have shifted to Liberals. But he has also long had a goal of single party state, like Alberta has essentially been. That is not going well
