Nintendo‘s experiments with novel features has paid off very often. The N64 brought an analog thumbstick and a new controller layout for 3D games. Wii was more radical with motion controls as the default input. The DS with dual screens, pen input, stereoscopic screen, wireless networking, was super innovative as well. All of these were super successful.
The Wii U and GameCube were the only less successful consoles of the last 20 years for Nintendo.
The slight difference in looks isn’t what’s stopping people.
Gnome 3 seems to be designed for touch screens, but it rarely is used with one.
The distro matters because some have better defaults for one DE over another.
The downside of KDE is the millions of options and features. It can get in the way and makes it a little harder to learn.
That said. KDE is pretty great and currently my favorite.
Developers need to eat, pay rent, etc.
Or it goes to a mailing list, but none of the readers thinks it’s their responsibility.
Depending on the Pi, you are limited to USB 2 speeds for the external drive. That’s enough for many things, like streaming video, but doesn’t cut it for regular transfer of large files.
If the reminder goes to someone, who was fire two months ago or someone on holiday, this can easily fail.
The problem sometimes is the automation failing for some reason.
Local network effect is enough, even when it’s restricted to a specific demographic or subculture. Once a dating platform grabs a hold in a location and demographic, it can extend from there.
Of course to keep a project like this running, you need a way to pay for hosting and development.
