Yup, this is huge. Wayland gaming is now a possibility. With Explicit Sync (needed for NVIDIA users) and VRR, there’s now no excuse to keep gaming in X11 in both DEs.

1·1 year agoWhat the hell?!?!?! This is a server OS! It needs to be as light as possible and for the sake of server stability and security, admins carefully choose the installed apps. Microsoft can’t just install new applications on a whim.

Keep coming back to Wayland. I’ve been using Linux as my main desktop OS since 2022, and at first, I encountered many issues with Wayland (KDE). However, I kept coming back and testing Wayland as the bugs were fixed. Now, Wayland is great! It feels like a true modern operating system — much better than Windows.
