Oh yeah, it definitely does. One of the things I remember most from mat-sci was that aluminum ALWAYS fatigues, regardless of stress magnitude, but steel won’t fatigue crack as long as stresses stay below the fatigue threshold.

Something I remember applying well to the Navy’s LCS project, I believe it was.
