If you own a self driving bat, or a robot, or a car and it leaves your house without your permission and kills people, it’s still your responsibility. Self driving vehicles do not remove responsibility from car owners or manufacturers. You can’t put a machine in prison or make it pay a fine.

I was speaking in general about the media. It’s very common to have the media report “accidents” before the blood is even dry or the bodies are cold. The police haven’t even identified the driver or the victims to find out if they know one another and the reporters are using the word accident to report what could just as easily be a premeditated homicide. In any case the car manufacturers should be held liable. Cars are a dangerous product because they are too heavy and move too fast. The maximum speed of a car should be 30mph on main roads and 20mph in residential areas. We have the technology for it.

The Tesla didn’t hit anyone. The driver hit people WITH a Tesla. If it were a baseball bat instead of a car, would they say a bat hit the people or the man holding it hit them? The media always tries to exonerate the driver without any research. #FuckCars
