23 days agoIn this case, crowd-funding is just a marketing instrument anyway. According to the Kickstarter page, they’re 21 people working on the game, they want to release in 18 months and they need $ 170,000 to do that (which, by the way, they already got). Less than $ 10,000 per month for a team of 21. In other words: They actually have enough money to do it without Kickstarter.
It’s not my thing either, but I understand running old games on the original hardware. There’s probably very little reason then to put a modern operating system between the two, let alone one which offers “near-native” (= worse) performance (and reduced compability in the first place).
