I feel like you’d need to use this in like, a Whonix VM to be confident no UDP packets are leaking and no hardware/OS info gathered by the presumably malicious browser extension.

Do you mean kicking that journalist off under pressure and revealing a log in IP? I honestly don’t expect my email provider to go to jail for me, it’s a pretty piss poor medium for private communication to begin with. I do, however expect it to work. Every clearnet service requires email, and losing access locks you out of your whole life nowadays. The argument I make to normies to get off gmail has moved from “They’re spying on you” to “AI hallucinations lead to bans of random accounts daily, can you afford to lose it?”
