  • It is really very simple to build your own. A reflux is easiest. A steel pot. A steel mixing bowl. Some copper pipe (easy to cut and solder), dough to seal, a thermometer, and some small clips/clamps. You can get fancy (pressure valves and a water cooled condenser) were as fancy as I got), but really, it’s not very difficult.

    I went through a few modifications to get a good one I was happy with. Tried coil condensing and some other stuff that was overly complex, but the maybe metre high still I made got us about 5 litres a day of 98%

    Just do it with LOTS of ventilation.

    This site has been around for at least 20 or so years. It’s where I got my fundamentals on designing one.

    For fermenting: air out good. Air in bad.
