Oh did not know that, I am sure there are other apps.

Edit Pihole doesn’t block YouTube ads in the browsers, I am unsure about ad guard, or Ublock origin. The browser I switched to as I am trying to move away from Apple things does though, it is Vivaldi it is some EU browser. Sure they have some office space in the US but I am sure that is just marketing. Just make sure Youtube is not installed on your phone or tablet.

I prefer pihole as it blocks most ads and trackers across my LAN. When I saw hours much crap was being tracked on my “smart TV” I disconnected it immediately. When I look at the stats every once in a while I am amazed. Last night I was going all gung hoe at making sure everything on canyoublockit.com.

I also am very proud to say that I do not see most of the junk mail sent to me, without using a junk mail filter.

I used pi-hole for a long time but then simplified by using Unbound blocklists on my OPNsense router. These days there are a few different options for network-wide ad blocking.

I am aware that there are other whole LAN blockers I hope I didn’t come off as saying pihole was the only option, or even the best for everyone.

No, I didn’t mean to sound like I was challenging your advice - just adding my support for Pi-hole and mentioning another option that does a similar thing.
