That’s… a strange choice. They must have only tested it on Steam Deck hardware… as if Desktop Linux users aren’t seasoned and running on “unsupported” hardware, lol.
Looking at related github issues it may have been fixed, if I understood correctly. GitHub link was added to the article. I would check on my own machine but it’s 4 AM and I just finished hyperfocus fuled coding session, gnight. Hope this works on desktops fingers crossed.
Kind of the opposite of PC gaming though, isn’t it? You can’t download it on desktop Linux.

The SteamDeck is a PC, it’s just handheld.
Every PC is handheld if youcre strong enough.
? Then why did steam just reinstall Baldur’s Gate on my linux desktop? And now it no longer uses proton and instead uses Steam Linux Runtime 3.0Really? The article and its comments indicate it’s not offered. Does it run for you?
Oh. You right lol
So, does it work for ya natively?
Nope!
This is an important tidbit. Thank you all for working through that and saving me a future headache.

I mean I never really had any problem running it with proton on desktop anyway
Fair enough. Same for me personally, but I think it’s just cool if it works natively.
