This about something specific? Because it doesn’t seem to be about proportional representation so like… this just ragebait or what?
So I’m not the only one unaware about what this meme is about
I reported it as being off-topic but then noticed that it was posted by one of the moderators so I don’t expect it’ll be removed.
I hope this isn’t a sign that this community’s going to be a soapbox for unrelated issues, I’m not here to discuss Fediverse governance or structure. There are other communities for that.
You’re intentionally misunderstanding the meme.
I’m not here to discuss Fediverse governance or structure. There are other communities for that.
That relates to how the governments are ran in Canada.
I assure you it’s not intentional. It’s completely unclear to me what this means, either in the context of Canadian proportional representation or with regard to the Fediverse. I didn’t know that the logo in the second panel was for Lemmy.world until you mentioned it in one of the comments, I have no idea what drama is going on that involves them, and what little I’ve gleaned from the comments so far doesn’t give any indication that it’s linked to the subject of this community at all.
Lemmy world holds 39% of the lemmyverse, that’s too much people under one instance. We need to spread out more, we need more representation of smaller instances on the fediverse.
Okay, so as I was suspecting this has nothing to do with proportional representation in the government of Canada. Or in general, really, because the Fediverse is not a government and “holding 39%” doesn’t have any particular voting power.
And I’m not even in the “lemmyverse” for that matter, I’m on an mbin instance. If you want to gripe about the ecosystem being dominated by particular elements perhaps that’s an even bigger issue to look at.
A instance holds a portion of the lemmyverse vote.
Okay but what does that have to do with proportional representation in canadian politics?
Should I be freaking out, or is this overblown?
If there’s something here to be worried about, it doesnt seem to be important enough for them to tell us what it is. I think we can safely all move on with our lives.
Lemmy.world is reddit-lite
For those wondering like I was: this is OPs critique on World having a lion share on the verse right now. Not because anyone did anything.
I don’t care about being on world or somewhere else but I think the lack of decentralisation is not intentional.
You’re correct.
The lemmy worlders want to be like Singapore.
You might want to be less cryptic to avoid being a shit stirrer. If something happened, lead us to your source, otherwise I’ll just assume you’re trolling
Ah yes a comment from lw being upset at their instance being critiqued.
I’m not from Lemmy.world, but I also have no idea what’s going on here. Anything remotely concrete would be helpful.
I have lemmy.world blocked so I really don’t know what’s going on.
I mean in the status quo when you have one instance or political party dominate the landscape problems arise from their leadership.
Your criticism would be more effective if it wasn’t too cryptic to understand
