This is interesting. Can you point me to some resources on this?

The conflict intensified on 7 October 2023, when Hamas and other Palestinian resistance groups launched an unprecedented surprise incursion against the Zionist Entity

Quote from the prole wiki, it does seam like this attack sparked the war. Had hamas not existed there would be no war.

Al-Aqsa Flood was a response to ongoing genocide and settler-colonialism by the Zionists, the genocide stretches far before then.

Sure, had resistance factions not existed it would have just been an unopposed slaughter instead of a war.

It would have been much more difficult for the US and Israel to manufacture public consent without a reason like hummas. And a decent portion of public consent is very important.

Yeah don’t worry, if it wasn’t an actual resistance they could point to to justify their genocide they would have found or invented another reason, like saddam’s totally real WMD.

This strikes me as similar to the “don’t fight back against ICE violence because they want you to be violent to justify what they’re already doing” line of thinking. They have all the power in the world to invent a justification, they don’t need one from you.
