Why are GPs allowed to get kickbacks like that? Is that not massively unethical?

Only if they prescribe them to people who don’t need them or would be harmed by them.

There’s no shortage of people who would get a benefit from them however so hopefully that won’t happen.

My fear is that there are some bad GPs even if most of them wouldn’t do anything unethical. 🤔

Obesity is a public healthcare crisis, but these drugs require long term use (because they don’t address environmental or psychological causes, or actively teach good behaviour), are expensive, and don’t have long term effect research yet. I have mixed feelings. I don’t think doctors are short on obese clients either.
