I subscribe to the theory that tech bros are deeply insecure about their masculinity because they have basically no genuine manliness in their lives, and the Cybertruck is something they’re familiar with (gimmicky tech bullshit) that tricks them into thinking they are doing manly things (hauling building supplies in a pickup truck).
It seems to be some kind of instinct, wanting to be edgelord-y while growing up (asia knows that as chuunybyou). And while some never grow up mentally, some others never overcome the edgelord-y.
