“And besides, there’s no reason to cry because all of this is nothing but a distraction from the Epstein files anyway. You know? Epstein? What do you mean, you never heard of him? You don’t follow American news?”

Oh, I get it! It’s funny because in real life the kid would never get to see soldier do the murdering, and if he did, he’d be dead! It’s absurd ohhhhhhh ha

Mad? No, but will I point out that the US military/every military spends ungodly sums of money on propaganda whether it be movies or video games or books or art to get dumb young men to join. Do I blame people for being propagandized from birth? No. Does that excuse the people who joined just because they wanted to kill people? No. Do I think people are capable of change? Yes. Its not like there isn’t plenty of military propaganda on this website.

      How I feel rn: 😮‍💨

I get that, but joining knowing full well you will probably kill someone or help others do that is still extremely fucked up, it wouldn’t happen if they saw us (people in the global south) as humans equal to them

Yeah it is I’m not denying it, but as a person who has often experienced the urge to hurt people I can’t pretend I’m some saint I just do everything I can to avoid that urge and the people and things that try to stir it up in me…

I don’t think what you’re saying here is unfair. I will also point out that the intentions of troops matter little to their victims, which I think is really the point the meme is making.

Of course it doesn’t I completely agree with you, but honestly the military is fucking demonic and the urge to harm other people can come from lots of places, I wish I could say I’m immune to it I’m not sadly and neither are you probably. I think you’re misinterpreting the meme a bit, I feel it’s a lot more mean spirited. This isn’t a personal attack by the way.

Hey, this is also not a personal attack. I don’t know if I’m the outlier here or not, but I figured I’d mention it and others can weigh in.

I don’t get the urge to hurt people, not that I don’t hurt people, but it’s unintentional. I get the urge to prove people wrong, but I only feel dread when I need to hurt people (not harm them, but I’m a teacher, so I have to have tough conversations with students sometimes).

If you get the urge to hurt people, vote this comment down, if you don’t, vote it up.

I’m ashamed with how poorly educated our armed forces are. They shouldn’t be willing to be follow someone actively and blatently committing treason.

It’s by design, troops are trained to be mindless beasts that obey the hierarchy.

Also treason? Foreign policy under trump has complete bipartisan support. Your goverment does not serve the people, it serves the oligarchs.

I wish more troops would commit treason and go against the US settler colonial project. There have been cases.

Volunteer servants who agree to lose all their benefits if they don’t serve exactly as their master wishes arent usually the type of people I think of when it comes to rebelling.

The higher ups who joined as officers maybe a bit, but even then the higher ups who had the possibility of being rebellious were all investigated for loyalty and removed if they were risk.

I can get health benefits and tuition coverage? “Only if you obey, if you step out of line we’ll stick you in a terrible position or a risky spot where you get injured first, then we’ll discharge you dishonorably if you disagree with shooting a child and not cover your disability payments”

      Where do I sign?
